Israeli forces detain 5 people near Rafah

GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained five people who were reportedly approaching the border fence near Rafah, southern Gaza.

Marwan Ahmad al-Soufi, Abdullah Muhammad al-Soufi, Ashraf al-Soufi, Muhammad Abu Athra, and Saddam Abu Athra were named as those arrested, Ma'an's correspondent said.

An Israeli army spokesman had no reports of the arrests in Gaza, but said that six people had been detained in the West Bank overnight Tuesday.

Four people were detained in Jenin, one in Ramallah and one in Bethlehem. All were taken for security questioning.
