IOF Opens Fire North of Beit Lahiya, Child and Two Young Men Injured

At approximately 3:30 pm on Friday 21 December 2012, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire at Palestinian farmers and a number of young Palestinian men who were in Hamdoush agricultural area north of Beit Lahiya, in North Gaza district. As a result, three persons including a child were injured. Al Mezan has identified them as follows:
  • Mohammed Ibrahim Salman, 15, sustained a bullet wound in the left leg;
  • Mohammed Mustafa ‘Ashour, 31, sustained bullet wound in the leg; and
  • Basel Mohammed Abu Al Qoumasan, 23, sustained a fracture in the left elbow while he was trying to help one of the injured persons. .
Medical sources at Al Awda Hospital described their injuries as moderate. The farmers left their lands afraid of fire.
